Mission Statement

The mission of the Friends of the West Boylston Senior Center is to supplement the Council on Aging budget by providing funding for programs, equipment, and furnishings that enhance the Senior Center. The Friends also work to support the needs and well-being of older adults in the West Boylston community.

What We Do

ICE CREAM SOCIALS: If it involves sweets and treats, we are there! While we love a good time and a delicious dessert, we also support health programs and will often volunteer our time for the good of our center.

SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT: When the Director is aware of something needed for the facility, they will reach out to us first to see if we can help. Lately we have purchased 2 large crock pots for the kitchen, an ice machine, and the art hanging equipment.

CLASSES AND EVENTS: If there is a big event happening The Friends are there. We work together as a team during our meetings to make sure all events are covered. We will volunteer our time, often offer to donate items or baked goods, and will always support the good of the community.

The Friends have long supported numerous events at the Senior Center. With your help we can support a lot more to come:

  • Monthly newsletters are brought to you by the Friends!
  • Have you seen our Coffee Corner:
  • Did you know the Friends provide all the coffee for this quaint cafe?

The Friends Support the Arts!

  • The Senior Center now hosts art shows! The Friends support this art show by providing the equipment to hang the paintings and photographs. They also provide the finger foods and beverages for the event!
  • The Friends group sponsors and supports the new monthly breakfast to honor our local veterans! Please join us!
  • The Friends are welcoming, engaging, and full of IDEAS!

Who are the Friends?

  • The Friends of the West Boylston Senior Center are guided by four dedicated officers, and our meetings are open to all members of the community.
  • We are recognized as an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which means all donations are tax-deductible.
  • Our mission is to supplement the Council on Aging budget by providing funding for programs, equipment, and furnishings that enhance the West Boylston Senior Center.
