The existing statement regarding the Town of West Boylston meeting the Chapter 40B land area minimum is outdated and no longer valid. The original calculation was reviewed by its author, who determined it was no longer valid. Given this, the Affordable Housing Trust decided not to fund a revision, as it would have been an unproductive use of funds and was expected to result in a document that did not support the original conclusion.

To ensure accurate and up-to-date public information, the reference to the town’s ability to deny Comprehensive Permits based on this criterion should be removed. Additionally, the Housing Production Plan will need to be revised to reflect this change.

The Board of Trustees of the Affordable Housing Trust are chosen by the Board of Selectmen and shall consist of at least 5 Trustees including one of the members of the Board of Selectmen, with a two-year appointment.

Creation
Under Article 11 of the October 16, 2006 town meeting, the town voted to accept Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 44, Section 55C, establishing a trust to be known as the Town of West Boylston Affordable Housing Trust Fund whose purpose shall be to provide for the creation and preservation of affordable housing in the Town for the benefit of low and moderate income households; appointment of the Board of Trustees and the authority of said Board shall all be as set forth in Massachusetts General Law Chapter 44, Section 55C.  Article 6 of the October 18, 2010 town meeting, the town voted to include the members of the Housing Partnership on the Affordable  Housing Trust. The Housing Partnership ceased to exist as a sole entity effective July 1, 2011.
