March 29, 2020 Update

In an effort to keep the citizens informed of the status of the Town of West Boylston’s operations as it relates to Covid-19, the town administration will be releasing informational updates, as they are received, via email to those who have signed up for the Town Administrator’s News & Announcements and on the Home Page of our website.

The Town has been notified that there are 2 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in West Boylston. Public Health Officials are working closely with the individuals and will notify others that the individual may have been in contact with.

At this time, Governor Baker has ordered that all schools remain closed until May 4. Check www.mass.gov for updated information.

On March 23, 2020, Governor Baker ordered that all non-essential businesses close by 12:00 noon on March 24, 2020. Please visit: www.mass/gov/covid19 for more information on who is considered essential by the Commonwealth. Violation of the terms of the Governor’s order may result in criminal penalty or a civil fine of up to $300.  If businesses have any questions, they can email the state at covid19.biz@mass.gov

Per the Governor, all travelers to Massachusetts are now instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.

At this time, curbside trash/recycling is on schedule.  The Pink Bag Program has been suspended until further notice.  Please do not put your pink bags out at the curb and if you have them out at this time, please bring them in and hold onto them until the program is resumed.

We have asked that Town Boards and Committees limit their meetings to only essential meetings. Agendas will continue to be posted on the town’s website.

We have applied for funding through the Health Alliance and the federal government for health-related equipment and expenses.

A COVID-19 text alert system has been established for immediate updates from the state.  Please text COVIDMA to 888-777 to subscribe. You can also call the informational and referral hotline from the state at 211.

Please continue to practice social distancing and good hygiene. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.  Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection
