2018 Spring Town Meeting Preparations

Our Spring Town meeting is set for Monday, May 21, 2018.   Behind the scenes we are already gearing up to get ready for this important part of town business.  There are many action steps that need to be completed prior to town meeting: 

1.       March 21, 2018  -  FY2019 Budget Presentation to Board of Selectmen:

          The Town Administrator will present the preliminary FY19 Budget Recommendation to the Board of Selectmen as part of their regular meeting.

2.      April 2, 2018  -  FY2019 Budget Recommendations to the Finance Cmte:

         The Town Administrator will submit the final FY19 Budget Recommendations to the Finance Committee on or before April 2nd. 

3.      April 2 through April 13, 2018 -  Finance Committee Budget Review Sessions:

         The Finance Committee will conduct FY19 Budget Review Sessions and meet with appropriate officials on the  budget from April 2nd through April 13th. 

4.     April 4, 2018 – Deadline for Warrant Article Submission for May 21st Annual Town Meeting

        The Board of Selectmen will accept Annual Town Meeting Warrant articles from departments, boards and committees, as well any public citizen petition articles, until April 4th.

5.     April 18, 2018 – Warrant Articles to be given to the Board of Selectmen at it’s regular meeting.

        The Board of Selectmen will acknowledge the list of warrant article received as part of their meeting agenda.

6.    April 25, 2018 – Board of Selectmen’s Public Work Session to Close and Approve the Warrant for the May 21st Annual Town Meeting

       The Board of Selectmen will conduct a public work session on April 25th to review the Budget, and close, approve and sign the warrant for the  Annual Town Meeting.

7.    May 3, 2018 – Posting and Printing of the Warrant

       The warrant for the May Town Meeting will be posted on May 3rd,  and copies printed for distribution.

8.   May 21, 2018 – Annual Town Meeting

      Annual Town Meeting to be held at the West Boylston Middle/High School Auditorium on May 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
