Wachusett Watershed Regional Recycling Center

The Wachusett Regional Recycling Center located at 131 Raymond Huntington Highway, West Boylston will be closed to the public on Tuesday, March 23rd and Thursday, March 25th. They will be working on a few reorganizing projects during the week that they hope will make their jobs go more smoothly.

When the Recycling Center reopens on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, they will start their Spring/Summer hours which are:

  • Tuesdays 9:00am - 11:00am
  • Thursdays 4:00pm - 6:00pm
  • The 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month 9:00am - noon

They have 3 Document Shredding Days scheduled for 2021.  Residents can bring 2 boxes for free and after that the fee is $2 per box.

  • Saturday, June 19, 2021        9:00am - noon
  • Saturday, October 16, 2021   9:00am - noon

The Recycling Center has 2 Household Hazardous Waste Days scheduled for 2021.  The rest of the site will be closed for any other drop off or pick up. There are a few changes to their procedures and fees.  They are now charging by car load vs can by can, by eliminating the handling of items the process will be safer for their volunteers and should make it run a bit faster.  The vendor will be assisting them with the check in process as well.  Items need to be in the trunk/back of the vehicle and in containers that will not be returned.

Fees  - Minimum fee: up to 3 gallons/pounds $20.00, Half Load: >3 to 10 gallons/pounds $40.00, Full Load: >10 to 25 gallons/pounds $70.00

The Wachusett Watershed Regional Recycling Center may increase or decrease days and times without prior notice.  If they do not have enough volunteers for a shift, or the weather makes it unsafe to be working outside, they will not be open as planned.  Please check their website www.wachusettearthday.org or call them at 978-464-2854 to see if they are open.
