Ripple Fiber Winter Construction Update
Ripple has now completed construction in the FDA20 area, and once final quality checks are done, those addresses will be ready for service. Their next focus areas are FDA21, FDA22, and FDA23, which are mostly overhead construction zones.
Winter Work Plan
• Underground construction will wrap up in the next few weeks before the ground freezes.
• Overhead construction will continue through the winter.
• Property restoration is happening now, and crews will return in the spring to ensure everything held up and complete additional loam, seed, or raking if needed.
Resident Notifications
Ripple has distributed door hangers and sent mailers to all addresses in areas where work is planned. There is very limited underground work in the new zones, but they are trying to complete those sections now before freeze conditions halt excavation.
Ongoing Work Highlights
• Splicing, testing, and cable placement continue in completed areas.
• Small underground sections on streets like Lost Oak Rd and Franklin St are being prioritized.
• Overhead work is moving north from Woodland Street into the next phases.
• A few quality issues (such as vault adjustments) have been identified and are being addressed.
• The Town has been closely involved in addressing concerns, including recent issues on Heritage Lane.
Ripple will continue coordinating with DPW, maintain at least one open travel lane whenever possible, and provide Dig Safe information for all underground work.
I’ll keep sharing updates as they come in. If you have concerns about construction in your area, please feel free to reach out to the Town Administrator’s office or DPW.
Thanks everyone for your patience as this major project continues.
