Subdivision Control

The subdivision of land is done under the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 41 Sections 81K - 81GG, known as the Subdivision Control Law and Rules and Regulations Governing the Subdivision of Land in the Town of West Boylston, MA, which is available through the Town Clerk and here.  West Boylston originally adopted the Rules and Regulations Governing the Subdivision of Land in the Town of West Boylston, MA on October 5, 1954.

Any change to the layout of lots in West Boylston must come before the Planning Board. Many times these changes do not require a Subdivision Approval but the Planning Board must certify to this through a process called Approval Not Required (ANR) before the change can be submitted to the Registry of Deeds.

The Rules and Regulations Governing the Subdivision of Land in the Town of West Boylston details the requirements and procedures for filing Preliminary and Definitive Plans for Subdivisions in the town.  The Planning Board will approve any subdivision plan that conforms to the recommendations of the Board of Health and the Rules and Regulations of the Town.

Public Hearings are required for all Definitive Subdivision Plans.
