Planning Board Responsibilities
We have these responsibilities:
- Approve all subdivision of land in the Town.
- Review all modifications to layout of lots in West Boylston, regardless of whether new lots are being created
- Issue Special Permits for uses that are specified in Section 3 of the Zoning Bylaws.
- Conduct Site Plan Review for building projects that meet the thresholds listed in Section 3.6 of the Zoning Bylaws.
- Review and make recommendations on all proposed changes to the Zoning Bylaws.
- Adopt a Master Plan for the Town.
- Review and make recommendations to Town Meeting on all proposed Street Acceptance proposals.
- Provide one elected member as one of two Town representatives to Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission.
- Provide one elected member as a representative to the Town Bylaws Committee, Town-wide Planning Committee, Housing Partnership and the Earth Removal Board.
- Review and make recommendations to the Zoning Board of Appeals prior to their issuance of Variances, Special Permits or Comprehensive Permits.
