Health Reimbursement Account
FOR PARTICIPANTS IN
THE WEST BOYLSTON HEALTHCARE PLAN
You may recall that when we announced Open Enrollment this year,
we informed you that the Deductibles
would be increased to $1,500 for an Individual and $3,000
per Family on ALL plans as of July 1, 2021.
We also communicated that the Town sponsors
an HRA (Health Reimbursement Account)
on ALL plans which will COVER the deductible as follows:
BCBSMA HMO BLUE – The HRA will pay ALL BUT the
first $500 per Individual /$1000 per Family
BCBSMA Select Care– The HRA will pay ALL BUT the
first $250 per Individual /$500 per Family
BCBSMA PPO- The HRA will pay ALL BUT the
first $500 per Individual / $1000 per Family (in network)
first $1000 per Individual / $2000 per Family (out of network)
The HRA is administered by TASC –the same company we use
for the FSA Flexible Spending Account.
This is how it will work:
You or one of your family members visits a provider.
The provider bills BCBSMA
BCBSMA processes the claim at the discounted rate and sends the information to TASC.
YOU DO NOT PAY ANYTHING until both BCBSMA and TASC have processed the claim.
TASC will pay the provider directly for everything
BUT the first $500 per Individual / $1000 per Family
(if you are on HMO Blue or PPO plans) and $250per Individual/ $500 per Family, if you are on Select.
After all of this, you should receive a bill for ONLY the portion of the
Deductible you are responsible for.
Please remember that you continue to be responsible for all
Office Visit, Emergency Room and Pharmacy copays
– those services are NOT subject to the Deductible.
