Public Record Requests

It is the policy of the Town of West Boylston, Massachusetts, to conform and comply with all
laws and regulations regarding public records. Applicable laws and regulations include, but are
not limited to, MGL Chapters 7 and 66 as amended by Chapter 121 of the Acts of 2016 and 950
CMR 32 as enacted by the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth.

Every record that is made or received by a government entity or employee is presumed to be a public record, unless a statutory exemptions permits or requires us to withhold.

Any person can make a request for public records by e-mail, by facsimile or in writing to one of the town's Record Access Officers (RAO).  You can also make a request "over the counter" at the appropriate Town office.  We will also respond to verbal requests, however you may not appeal a verbal request to the Supervisor of Public Records.  We will provide you with a Public Record Request Form that you can use, but it is not required.  However, we ask that you be a specific as possible in your requests.  Sometimes it will be helpful to discuss your request with an RAO to clarify the information that you are seeking.  You can also submit a request on line at our Submit a Public Records Request page.  For more information on the process, please see our Public Records Request Compliance document.

The Town Clerk is our Chief Record Access Officer.  In addition, the Board of Selectmen has appointed RAOs for specific departments.  Contact information for our RAOs is listed below:
