Meals On Wheels

If you think you or a loved one is eligible for Meals on Wheels,
please call the Senior Center at 508-835-6916 for further information

Eligibility
Clients must be 60 years of age or older, homebound (unable to leave home without assistance due to illness, disability or frailty) and unable to prepare a meal.  A client’s ability to drive his/her own vehicle will preclude eligibility for Meals on Wheels.

Delivery
Meals will be delivered between 10:30 am and 12:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except for legal holidays. Meals may not be delivered due to inclement weather.  Our policy states, if the weather is bad, we do not ask our volunteer drivers to deliver meals.  The Board of Health does not allow us to leave a meal if a recipient is not home, as well as not allowing a meal to be left outside.  If you need to cancel a meal, please call Elder Services at (508) 852-3205.

Cost
There is a donation request of $2.50 per meal, which will be asked in a monthly request from Elder Nutrition.  Please mail any donation directly to them, since our drivers cannot take any money from a client.

Types of Meals
Diabetic and no-salt-added meals are available upon request.  Menus will be delivered on a monthly basis, and are printed in the Banner and Telegram & Gazette on a weekly basis.
