Commonwealth Compact Signed November 14, 2016

On Monday, November 14, the Board of Selectmen met with Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito to sign the Community Compact agreement with the State in which the Town commits to working in conjunction with the State towards specific improvements in the areas of Complete Streets,  road pavement conditions analysis, and in studying the need for affordable housing in our community.

The Community Compact is a voluntary, mutual agreement between the Commonwealth and cites and towns.  In a Community Compact, the town agrees to implement "best practices" in one or more areas of the town's choosing. We chose the three areas listed above.  In response, the Commonwealth commits to assisting the town through possible grants and technical assistance.  View the signed Commonwealth Community Compact for the complete text.
