The Tax Collector will advertise and place a Tax Lien on all unpaid Real Estate Property in the Town of West Boylston. Once a Tax Lien is established, it is recorded at the Registry of Deeds. This process then allows the Treasurer to begin foreclosure proceedings in the Land Court for non-payment. Town Attorneys and the Land Court will notify current owners of the property before the property is foreclosed on.
From time to time, the Town will advertise parcels and buildings that it has received through the foreclosure process. Legal advertisements are placed in the local paper as to the time and place of the tax sale, as well as a description of the items up for sale.
