School Committee Vacancy
School Committee member and chairperson, Lisa Moreland, has announced that she will be resigning from the West Boylston School Committee effective August 27, 2010. Ms Moreland is relocating to Maryland. In addition to her five years on the School Committee, Lisa has been involved in supporting the West Boylston Public Schools in many capacities over the past fourteen years. The School Department is grateful for her commitment to serving our public schools.
The School Committee and the Board of Selectmen will appoint a replacement for Ms. Moreland to serve out this third year of her three year term of office through a process directed by state statute. Citizens of West Boylston who want to be considered for appointment to this School Committee vacancy should send a letter of interest to the Superintendent of Schools, Thomas Kane, at the Superintendent’s Office at 125 Crescent St. West Boylston, MA 01583. The letter should include a brief resume and must be submitted by Friday, September 10, 2010. The School Committee and Board of Selectmen plan to hold a meeting before the end of September to interview applicants and choose a replacement for Ms. Moreland.
