The 1.5-Mile Run Test requires six laps around a standard quarter-mile track, or it can be done on a measured section of road. Consider taking this test only if you have been exercising previously.
Goal: To run 1.5 miles as quickly as you can
Directions:
1. |
Locate a standard quarter-mile track or measure a section of road that has few stoplights. |
2. |
Have a stopwatch or a watch with a second hand. |
3. |
Before taking the test, warm up with walking, stretching, and a slow jog. |
4. |
This is a test of your maximum capacity, so do the best you can. Push yourself to cover the distance as fast as possible without overdoing it. |
5. |
When you complete the 1.5 mile distance, record your time and exercise pulse and then cool down with walking and stretching. |
