The town is located in the heart of southern New England with excellent highway access to major cities. It is less than 10 minutes from Worcester - the second largest city in New England and a thriving center of business and industry - and just 45 minutes from Boston. West Boylston has the advantage of close proximity to nearby urban areas plus better business tax rates. The town also has a wealth of retail and industrial real estate available for new businesses or companies looking to relocate.
Businesses enjoy a friendly and streamlined permitting process with the help of Town government. The Town Administrator coordinates a Project Roundtable Process with the EDTF. This informal discussion includes represetatives from various Board and Departments to review applications involving multiple departments. It allows an initial look at the plans, a chance for officials to ask questions, and relay to the applicant an expectation of what is to come and what needs to be done in a timely fashion.
West Boylston is currently seeking to join an Economic Target Area. Once that occurs, the town will be eligible to offer TIFs (Tax Increment Financing) to new or existing businesses.
