The Shared Services Committee is made up of eight members, appointed by the Town Administrator for a term of 2 years. A member of the Board of Selectmen and a member of the School Committee are two of the members and have voting powers.
Scope of Work
The Shared Services Committee is charged with the following scope of work
- develop a working definition of shared services.
- review other studies and community initiatives regarding shared services.
- discuss shared service opportunities with Town Department Managers and/or governing boards, both elected and appointed.
- identify potential new or expanded shared services.
- assess potential challenges and obstacles to expand shared services partnerships prepare a written report of Committee findings and recommendations
Creation
The establishment of the Shared Services Committee was by vote of the Board of Selectmen on November 7, 2007. At creation, it consisted of seven members, two of which were representatives from the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee. At the February 4, 2009 meeting of the Board of Selectmen, the Board voted to expand the Committee to eight members.
Disbanded by the Board of Selectmen at their April 18, 2012 meeting.
