The Town Scholarship Committee provides scholarships to selected eligible student applicants. For the school year 2008-2009, we will provide five (5) one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) scholarships based on the following considerations and criteria:
1. |
The applicant must be a town resident. "School Choice" students are not eligible as this funding is through the West Boylston taxpayers only. |
2. |
If not a student at West Boylston Middle/High School, the applicant may be of any age, but must be accepted at, or presently enrolled beyond the secondary school level at, an educational institution deemed accredited by the committee. |
3. |
Prior to monetary disbursement of the scholarship award, each scholarship recipient must present a certified copy of an official transcript with a raised seal (or report card) from the accredited institution. The transcript must show passing grades from the summer or fall semester that follows notification of scholarship selection. |
4. |
The Scholarship Committee will judge each applicant based upon his/her financial need, character, scholastic record, community service and extracurricular school activities. |
