I wanted to get you some information on the status of the Asian longhroned Beetle battle happeneing in Massachusetts. As you may be aware, ALB was discovered on the grounds of Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plan (Boston), MA on Saturday, July 3. Six (6) infested trees were detected upon inspection by the Massachusetts ALB Cooperative Eradication Program. The infested trees were removed on the morning on Tuesday, July 6. As of Thursday, July 15, ground survey staff and tree climbers have surveyed 2,134 trees in the area around the hospital. No
additional trees have been detected at this time. Eradication efforts in Worcester County will continue as previously planned. We shall be watching closely to see how the infestation in Boston affects our work here in Worcester COunty.
